I was looking into range extenders I like the idea of having a separate way to charge the batteries as you go along. I'd feel more secure knowing the batteries had more charging.
 
Range extenders definitely sound practical, but they also add weight and complexity to the car, which could impact performance and efficiency. The i4’s range is already impressive for most daily drives, and fast charging is getting better every year. That said, if you’re doing a lot of rural or off-grid travel, I can see why a backup charging solution would bring peace of mind.
