I've had it happen a couple of times now while driving, but the connection to my droid will cut out and I will have to reconnect. I've tried rebooting both and it seems to work for a time, but I cant just reboot every time so I'm wondering if it's my phone (Samsung Galaxy S21) or the i4, or both?

I can get a new phone if need be. Its a couple of years old anyways.

I have my Samsung 22 and now the 23 Ultra 5 that I connect to the android app on the Nissan, and it works fine. I did need to get a new cable to go from car to phone recently. I'd suggest getting a new cable to see if that helps.

I suggest investing in a new cable with higher amperage. Higher than the original is much better.

If you’re using wireless Android Auto, try switching to a wired connection just to see if it helps. It’s not ideal, but it can pinpoint if the wireless connection is the issue. Also, make sure you’re not using battery saver mode on the S21, it can sometimes limit Bluetooth functions to save power.
