I wanted to reach out because I’ve been having a bit of a strange issue with the passenger-side door lock on my i4. Every time I activate it, there’s this loud noise that really catches my attention. It almost sounds like something might be misaligned. I dunno if maybe a screw is loose or not installed correctly?

The good news is that the door locks and unlocks just fine, but that noise definitely doesn’t seem right to me. Has anyone else run into this issue before? Should I be concerned about any long-term problems, or is this something that’s usually an easy fix? Thanks a ton!

hmmm I had the same issue with the passenger-side door lock on my car, it would make a loud noise when locking, and I thought something was seriously wrong....turns out it was just a loose screw that needed tightening, and after that, it was perfectly quiet!

Yeah, it could be something as simple as a loose screw, a funky actuator, or some random thing messing with the locking mechanism. Honestly, it’s probably worth getting it checked out before it turns into a bigger headache. If you ignore it, it might just wear down the parts even more down the road.

Had the same issue with my EV’s door, it sounded like a tiny robot screaming for help. Turned out a loose clip was the culprit.

Does your car still make that noise? I am curious how it ended.
